All rental vehicles include the legally required third-party liability coverage as mandated by local law.
This coverage provides protection against bodily injury and property damage to third parties but does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself.
Optional Protection Plans:
Renters may purchase additional protection at the time of rental, including but not limited to:
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – Reduces or eliminates the renter’s financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle, subject to exclusions.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) – Covers both collision and theft of the rental vehicle, subject to terms and conditions.
Exclusions
Coverage will not apply in cases involving:
Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances.
Use of the vehicle in violation of the rental agreement (e.g., off-road driving, unauthorized drivers, commercial use).
Negligence, reckless driving, or intentional damage.
Failure to secure the vehicle (e.g., leaving keys inside, unlocked doors).
Deductibles & Limits
Coverage may include deductibles, which are the renter’s responsibility in the event of a claim.
Coverage limits are subject to the terms outlined in the rental agreement and/or insurance policy documentation.
Renter’s Responsibility Without Coverage
If no optional protection is purchased, the renter is fully responsible for the full value of damage to or loss of the rental vehicle, plus any related costs (towing, loss of use, administrative fees).
Proof of Insurance
Renters may use their own personal auto insurance or credit card coverage if it extends to rental vehicles.
Proof of coverage must be presented at the time of rental, and the rental company reserves the right to verify eligibility."
