Rental Requirements and General Qualifications

Upon arrival, please go to the rental counter in the terminal of our subsidiary Easy Car Rentals.
Call 502-50506027 when you are ready and out of the baggage belt, our representative will be in touch to give you the tracking and location of the counter so that you can comfortably identify us.

An additional driver's surcharge of USD $5.00 per day applies.

Vehicles must be return within regular hours of operation (please refer to office hours). For after-hour returns, please inquire at the rental counter. The delivery of a car outside of office hours may have a surcharge of $35.00 dollars

CAR INSURANCE (C.D.W ):
This is partial insurance, a product that exempts the renter from full or partial liability for damages sustained by a rental vehicle in the event of an accident. CDW insurance only covers damages exceeding the deductible for the rental car, as specified in the rental agreement. Deductibles vary depending on the type of vehicle rented. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) costs range from $9.00 to $18.00 per day. Any violation of the terms of the rental agreement, including negligent or reckless behavior, or failure to report any incident involving the rented car by the renter, will immediately void the use of the car insurance coverage.(CDW) does not cover accidents, windshield damage, lost keys, or punctures. The purchase of CDW is mandatory for all car classes except 4 Door Sedans, Compact SUVs and Intermediate SUVs. The purchase of CDW insurance is only optional for certain types of vehicles, such as 4-door sedans, 5-seater compact SUVs, and 7-seater midsize SUVs (4x2 and 4x4). It becomes optional when the customer purchases insurance through an advertising channel (provided the policies are favorable) or if they have this coverage benefit on their credit card. It is mandatory, without exception, that the customer physically present the documents that prove and validate this coverage for the reserved vehicle upon arrival; otherwise, the reservation will be rejected and the coverage will not be applied. For double-cab pickups, 5-seater 4x4s, and 12- and 15-seater vans, all insurance is mandatory. If the customer has purchased additional insurance, its use is at their discretion, but it does not affect the mandatory purchase of our insurance at our counter for these types of vehicles, as they are considered special and sensitive vehicles.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI):
This insurance costs between $18.00 and $25.00 USD per day, depending on the type of vehicle rented. It provides additional protection against bodily injury, death, or damage to private property. It is mandatory for all types of vehicles without exception.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI):
This medical coverage costs $10.00 USD per day. It provides accidental death benefits and emergency medical expense coverage for the renter and all passengers in the vehicle. It is Mandatory for double-cab pickups, 5-seater 4x4s, and 12- and 15-seater vans.

FULL COVERAGE:
Car insurance (CDW): Third-party liability insurance (SLI). To obtain this full coverage, the price will be higher than the basic insurance presented. The daily rate will be set at the rental company's discretion. If the renter presents insurance purchased through aggregators on platforms, the cost of both car insurance (CDW) and third-party liability insurance (SLI) will be higher than the original basic insurance. In any case, when presenting car insurance purchased or credited to their credit card, the third-party liability insurance must be full coverage.

It is a violation of the car rental contract to drive under the influence of liquor, under the influence of any narcotics, or not to be authorized in the contract to drive the rented car. Lose all insurance benefits. If smoking inside the vehicle leaves a cigarette odor, a charge will be made at the discretion of the car rental company.

PAYMENT
We accept all major credit and debit cards. A security deposit of $800 to $2,000 is required, depending on the rental car. This deposit will be released upon return of the vehicle and credited to your account within 7 to 21 business days.
All reservations are non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-cancellable. All reservations, whether prepaid or not, have a 24-hour free cancellation period to avoid penalties or charges for the full amount of the reservation, respecting the rental period indicated on the booking portal. The exchange rate applicable to rental payments is Q8.75 per US$1.00.

Vehicle must be returned with same amount of fuel as rented to avoid a refueling service charge. If the car is not returned with the same amount of fuel as it was rented, the cost per gallon wil be $10.00.
All vehicle returns in the form of fuel must be returned in the same quantity as at the start of the rental; if there is an excess, it is not negotiable and cannot be applied as a discount.

AGE :
The minimum age of the Renter or any additional driver must be 21. Drivers age 21-24 may rent a vehicle for an additional charge of $15.00 per day with higher C.D.W deductible. No additional charges will apply if Renter is over the age of 25.

DRIVERS LICENSE, PASSPORT AND DRIVER´S LICENSE:
The renter must present a valid foreign driver's license at the time of rental, a valid passport with an entry stamp of the same day, this is essential, there are no exceptions, and finally, a foreign credit card.

The recipient of reservations in Guatemala is not responsible for refunds of prepaid payments or payments made through the platforms. Furthermore, before making a reservation, the customer understands and accepts having read the vehicle rental terms and conditions and the additional and mandatory charges for liability insurance, especially for 4x4 trucks and 12- and 15-passenger vans, where insurance is mandatory.

Each vehicle must be returned to the same location where it was rented. If the vehicle is returned to a different location, the company will apply an additional charge based on the distance.
