After collecting your luggage, please head to the second car rental area outside of the airport. Our staff will be waiting for you with a Priceless Car Rental sign, and will take you to our office using our free shuttle service.

Terms and Conditions

INSURANCE

TPL — Third-Party Property Damage Coverage
Required to rent a vehicle.
Price: $19.99 per day, plus taxes.
Calculated for each 24-hour rental period.
Covers 70% of covered damages caused to third-party property. The customer retains a deductible equal to 30% of the covered damage.

SLI — Supplemental Liability Coverage *Optional and recommended*
Price: $14.99 per day, plus taxes.
Calculated for each 24-hour rental period.
Covers the 30% deductible retained under TPL, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of the rental agreement.

CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) — Rental Vehicle Coverage
Price: $18.99 per day, plus taxes.
Covers damage to and theft of the rental vehicle, subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
Standard deductible: $2,500.
It should not be presented as absolutely mandatory.
The customer may decline our CDW if they provide written and verifiable evidence of valid CDW or LDW coverage in Costa Rica.
The evidence may be provided by a credit card company, insurance provider, or intermediary.
It must include the policy or coverage number, which will be recorded in the rental agreement.
It is not sufficient for the customer to verbally state that they have coverage.
Coverage purchased through an intermediary may operate on a reimbursement basis and does not replace the locally required TPL.

CDW+ (Full or Super Collision Damage Waiver) *Optional
**This optional insurance reduces deductibles and deposits. The price varies depending on the vehicle type.

TPL+ (Third Party Damage Insurance Plus with Zero Deductible or Excess) *Optional
**This optional insurance has no deductible or excess. The price varies depending on the vehicle type.

TWI (Tires and Windshield Insurance)
**This optional insurance covers tires and windshields. The price is specified in USD per day. Negligence is not covered.

ERA (Emergency Roadside Assistance Insurance)
This optional insurance provides emergency roadside assistance. The price is specified in USD per day.

Underage Driver Fee
This fee is required if the drivers are under 25 years old. The cost is $15 USD per day.

Extra Driver Fee
The cost for an additional driver is $10 USD per day.

**If the required documents are not presented, the chosen insurance benefits will not apply, and no type of negligence will be covered.

Declining CDW Insurance: If the renter wishes to decline CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and rely on their own insurance, they must provide written proof from their insurance company. This proof must specifically state that coverage is effective in Costa Rica. By declining the CDW insurance offered by the car rental company and using my own collision insurance policy, I will be 100% responsible for any damages caused to the rented vehicle.

Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customer's personal auto insurance coverage.

We accept Mastercard, VISA, Diners Club, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards, as well as cash in dollars, colones, and euros.
Taxes: 13% Local Tax and 5% State Tax
You'll pay all charges that apply to the rental for miscellaneous services and, where permitted, airport facility fees and/or concession recovery fees, vehicle license recovery fees, other fees and surcharge

Deposit

We accept only credit cards, not debit cards. The deposit amount ranges from $2,000 to $2,500 USD, depending on the package you choose.
Full Cover: $500 deposit.
TPL + SLI: $1,500 deposit.
TPL Only: $2,500 deposit.

The deposit is a temporary authorization and must be made with a valid credit card in the renter’s name. Debit cards and cash are not accepted for the deposit.
The hold will be released after the vehicle is returned, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The customer’s bank may take 7 to 14 business days to reflect the release of the hold.

Rental charges may be paid using approved payment methods; however, the security deposit must be placed on a valid credit card issued in the renter's name.

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when the rental began. Otherwise, a fuel service charge will apply.

Renter must present a valid driver license at the time of rental. Foreign renters must present a valid driver license and a valid passport and based on the date of the entry stamp, will be allowed to rent a vehicle for up to 90 days, present at time of rental.
AGE - The minimum age of the Renter or any additional driver must be 21. Drivers age 21-24 may rent a vehicle for an additional charge of $15.00 per day with higher CDW deductible. No additional charges will apply if Renter is over the age of 24.

Child Seat: child seats are available at our Juan Santamaría location. The price is $4.99 USD per day.
