Not AllowedRENTAL COVERAGES
The renter, additional renters, or authorized additional drivers are fully liable for any loss or damage to the rental vehicle, even if someone else caused it or the cause is unknown — whether due to theft, fire, hail, flood, collision, vandalism, or any other cause. This liability will not exceed the full value of the vehicle, plus actual towing and storage charges, loss of use, diminution in value, a reasonable administrative fee, pro-rata license fees, all rental charges through the date the incident is reported, and any other out-of-pocket expenses incurred by Priceless as a result of loss or damage.
The renter and/or any additional renter and/or authorized additional driver (and the respective insurance companies of each) is primarily responsible for all third-party claims of personal injury, including death, and property damage caused by the use and operation of the Priceless vehicle during the rental.
All renters must have verifiable collision coverage for the rented vehicle. The most common methods are a personal/business auto insurance policy or credit card rental car damage benefits.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) / Partial CDW (PCDW)
If the renter purchases an optional CDW plan, Priceless will waive the renter's responsibility for loss or damage to the vehicle in full or in part, depending on the plan selected. CDW is not insurance. CDW does not apply if: (1) the vehicle is used in violation of the rental agreement; (2) the vehicle is stolen or vandalized; (3) Priceless and police are not notified immediately after the loss; or (4) the renter fails to pay charges under the rental agreement.
Personal Accident and Effects Package (PAE)
PAE includes Personal Accident Coverage (PAC) and Personal Effects Coverage (PEC), and where offered, must be purchased together.
Personal Accident Coverage (PAC): Provides benefits to the renter and passengers for accidental medical expenses, ambulance expenses, and accidental death benefits during the rental. Coverage applies 24 hours a day for the renter, and to passengers while occupying the rented vehicle.
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC): Covers the personal effects of the renter and immediate family members traveling with the renter who permanently reside in the renter's household. PEC pays covered claims even if the renter's homeowners policy provides coverage.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
Where available, SLI provides the renter and authorized drivers with automobile liability coverage against third-party claims for bodily injury (including death) and property damage resulting from an accident in the Priceless vehicle, in excess of coverage provided under the rental agreement — up to a maximum of $500,000 combined single limit (CSL) per occurrence.
SLI excludes claims by the renter's and additional authorized drivers' family members related by blood, marriage, or adoption, and any other person residing with the renter. SLI does not provide uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. SLI does not apply in Mexico.
Insurance Coverage for Extended Rentals
If you provided your own CDW or Auto Liability Insurance at the start of the rental and later extend the rental period, it is your sole responsibility to renew or extend your coverage for the additional days.
• Email renewed/extended coverage to customercare@sdrentalauto.com within 24 hours of the extension
• Subject line must include: renter's full name, rental agreement number, unit number, and new return date
• Penalty: $27/day for each day the vehicle is not properly covered
• Renter remains fully responsible for all damage, theft, loss, or liability during any uncovered periodRENTAL RESTRICTIONS

To qualify to rent a Priceless vehicle, the renter must present at the time of rental a payment card in their own name with required available funds. The name and signature on the driver's license and payment card must match. Eligible payment cards: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. (Small "key ring" payment cards are not accepted.)
A. Credit Card — Quickest Rental Process
Presenting a driver's license and credit card is the quickest way to complete the rental process. At the beginning of the rental, Priceless will review the credit card issuer's rental car damage benefits and advise the customer of coverage on the vehicle chosen. Most credit card coverage pays only after the renter's personal or business insurance has been used.
An authorization hold will be secured on the credit card to cover all estimated charges plus a security deposit amount.
B. Debit Card — Insurance Verification Required
When a debit card is presented, Priceless will perform an insurance verification to confirm the policy has been prepaid for a minimum of 30 days from the rental date and provides collision coverage for the rented vehicle. If the insurance fails to meet requirements, the rental will not be processed unless a major credit card with verifiable coverage is provided or the optional Priceless CDW is purchased.
When a debit card is accepted, three (3) forms of identification must be presented, plus any two (2) of the following residential address verification documents (all dated within 30 days, address must match driver's license):
• Bank or payment card statement (digital accepted)
• Mobile phone or telephone company invoice — not more than $100 past due (digital accepted)
• Utility invoice — not more than $100 past due (digital accepted)
• Mortgage statement or auto/home insurance invoice (digital accepted)
• Government-issued ID or U.S. Military ID in the same name as the driver's license and payment card
• Employment ID card in the same name as the driver's license and payment card
C. Pre-Paid Debit Card — Insurance Verification Required
When a pre-paid debit card is presented, Priceless will perform an insurance verification to confirm collision coverage for the rented vehicle. If the insurance fails to meet requirements, the rental will not be processed unless the optional Priceless CDW is purchased. Renters choosing CDW on a pre-paid debit card may only rent Economy through Full Size Vehicles, Intermediate SUVs, Mini Vans, Work Pick-Up Trucks, Cargo Vans, and Cargo Trucks.
Three (3) forms of identification must be presented, plus any two (2) of the residential address verification documents listed in Section 2B above.REFUELING POLICIES
The renter must refill the fuel tank to the same level as when the vehicle was rented, within a 10-mile radius of the rental return facility, and present a fuel receipt to avoid a refueling charge.
Renters who choose the prepaid fuel option (if available) will pay the specified charge and have no obligation to return the vehicle with any fuel. There is no credit or refund for any fuel remaining in the tank at the end of the rental.
Renters who do not return the vehicle at the same fuel level without a receipt will be charged for the cost and service of refueling based on estimated gallons needed at the rate per gallon specified in the rental agreement, plus a refueling convenience fee.RENTER QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum age to rent a vehicle at most Priceless locations is 21 years of age. Renters, additional renters, and authorized additional drivers aged 21–24 will be charged an underage driver fee in addition to any other applicable fees. Renters aged 21–24 are permitted to rent only Economy through Full Size Vehicles, Intermediate SUVs, Mini Vans, Work Pick-Up Trucks, Cargo Vans, and Cargo Trucks.
United States Residents and U.S. Military Personnel
A renter, additional renter, or authorized additional driver who is a resident of the United States must present at the time of rental a driver's license issued by any state, territory, or possession of the United States that is valid for the entire rental period.
Priceless will accept a valid U.S. military identification card plus an expired state-issued driver's license for active duty U.S. military personnel in states where active duty military can drive on an expired license.
LOCAL POLICY — San Diego: Temporary driver's licenses, printouts, photocopies, and digital images are NOT accepted. All documents must be originals. No exceptions.
Priceless does not accept a learner's permit as a valid driver's license.
International Driver's License
A renter, additional renter, or authorized additional driver who is a resident of a country outside the United States must present at the time of rental a driver's license issued by their country of residence that is valid for the entire rental period.
If the driver's license is not in English, the renter and any additional renters or drivers will be required to present both the foreign-issued driver's license and a current International Driver's Permit (IDP), or, if from Japan, a Japanese Translation Service. An IDP does not give a person the right to drive — it provides a certified translation of the valid foreign driver's license. An IDP without a foreign-issued driver's license is not acceptable. The renter, additional renter, or authorized additional driver may be requested to show a passport, visa, or other current U.S.-issued documentation authorizing each person to be present in the USA for the entire rental period.OTHER POLICIES
Rental Rates
Most rental rates are based on a 24-hour rental day starting at the time of rental. The minimum charge is one day plus mileage if applicable. The renter will be charged for each hour or part of an hour in excess of a rental day until the vehicle is returned, up to the applicable daily rate. If the renter fails to comply with any geographic driving restrictions, a mileage charge, rate surcharge, or other rate plan may be charged.
Child Safety Seats
For an additional charge, infant, toddler, and child/youth safety seats are available. Please request at the counter at time of pickup.
Navigation System
Many Priceless locations offer navigation devices for an additional daily charge. The dashboard-mounted device is programmed for multiple languages and contains mapping details of the entire U.S. with points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and tourist attractions.
Ski Racks
Ski racks are available at select Priceless locations where travel to ski resorts is anticipated during the winter season. An additional charge applies. Contact our office for availability.
Additional Fees and Charges
At many Priceless locations, the renter may incur one or more of the following charges: off-airport concession recovery or access fee, airport consolidated facility charge, airport transportation facility charge, frequent flyer surcharges, and vehicle license fees (estimated average per-day portion of annual vehicle tax, license, title, inspection, and registration costs). Other government-imposed fees and charges may also apply. These charges may be calculated as a percentage, a per-day charge, or a per-rental charge.
Renters with Physical Disabilities
If the renter will require driving aids to operate a vehicle, please contact Priceless customer care at (888) 898-0808 at least 5 days in advance of your rental. This will ensure the availability of equipment and allow Priceless personnel to install such equipment prior to arrival.
If a traveling companion will serve as the driver during the rental, please advise the Priceless representative at the time of rental. There is no additional charge for an authorized additional driver accompanying a non-driving disabled renter.
Lost and Found
Priceless will not be financially responsible for any personal belongings left in the rental vehicle, shuttle vehicle, or within the location premises. If you have lost items, please call Priceless customer care at (888) 898-0808 or contact us as soon as possible.
